Doc Vault ("the app") is a document scanning and storage app that saves your files directly to your own Google Drive. We do not operate any servers and do not collect or store your data on our infrastructure.

1. Data We Collect

The app collects only what is necessary to provide its core features:

• Google account information (name, email address, profile picture) — obtained when you sign in with Google. Used solely to display your profile in the app and to authenticate requests to Google Drive on your behalf.
• Google Drive access token — provided by Google after sign-in. Stored locally on your device only. Used to upload and organize files in your Google Drive. Never transmitted to our servers.
• Photos and documents — captured via your device camera or chosen from your photo library. Uploaded directly to your own Google Drive folder. We do not receive, view, or store copies of your documents.
• App preferences (selected language, Drive folder ID) — stored locally on your device using browser localStorage. Never transmitted anywhere.
• Offline queue — if you capture documents while offline, they are temporarily stored on your device (IndexedDB) and uploaded to your Google Drive when connectivity is restored. This data never leaves your device except to go directly to your own Google Drive.

2. How We Use Your Data

All data collected is used exclusively to provide the app's functionality:

• Authenticating your Google account to access Google Drive
• Uploading and organizing your documents in your Google Drive
• Displaying your account information within the app

We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app for you.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal data with any third parties.

The app communicates directly with Google APIs (Google Sign-In and Google Drive API) on your behalf. Your use of these services is governed by Google's Privacy Policy and Google's Terms of Service. Doc Vault's use of Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4. Data Storage

Doc Vault has no backend servers. All data is stored in two places only:

• Your device — app preferences and offline queue (temporary)
• Your Google Drive — your uploaded documents, under your full control

5. Camera and Photo Library

The app requests access to your device camera and photo library solely to let you photograph or select documents for upload. Images are not stored on the device beyond the brief period needed to complete the upload.

6. Your Rights and Data Deletion

You can delete all app data at any time:

• In-app deletion: Go to Settings → Delete All App Data. This signs you out, clears all locally stored preferences and offline queue data, and resets the app to its initial state.
• Your Google Drive files: Documents you uploaded are stored in your own Google Drive account. You can delete them at any time directly from Google Drive.
• Google account access: You can revoke the app's access to your Google account at any time via Google Account Permissions.

7. Children's Privacy

Doc Vault is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
